2011 Horatio Alger Scholarship Deadline

Do you know when will be 2011 Horatio Alger scholarship deadline and when are the winners notified? 2011 Horatio Alger scholarship application is available online. It means that you must be completed online and submitted by October 30, 2010 of the student's senior year. But for letter of support, deadline is extended until November 5, 2010.

In addition, the certification form must be signed by your parent and the applicant’s principal or vice principal prior to mailing. Please keep in your mind in 2011 Horatio Alger scholarship application, faxes/emails will not be accepted.

The Horatio Alger scholarship is aimed for full-time high school senior from a family earning less than $50,000 per year. It means this scholarship is based on financial need as opposed to academic achievements. You must show that you need serious financial support to attend college.

So what is eligibility of 2011 Horatio Alger scholarship?
1. You must be US citizen and getting enrollment as full time student as a high school senior toward graduation in the Spring/Summer 2011, with plans to enter college no later than the fall following graduation
2. You must have strong commitment to pursuing and completing a bachelor's degree at an US accredited institution.
3. Like I said above, you must show and demonstrate a financial need ($50,000 or less adjusted gross income per family is preferred, if higher explanation must be provided)
4. You are involved in co-curricular and community activities in you school.
5. You must have minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0
