Bank of India, one of the leading public sector banks in India has announced its Recruitment Project-2012. Under the Bank of India Recruitment 2012, in the first phase the bank has invited Online applications from the successful candidates in the IBPS PO Common Written Exam 2011 for filling up 1800 vacancies for the post of General Banking Officers

Apart from the Bank of India GBO Recruitment 2012, Syndicate Bank, Corporation Bank and Union Bank of India has announced their recruitment Project 2012 for Probationary Officers based on the IBPS Score.Before applying Online for the GBO Recruitment 2012 in Bank of India, candidates are required to go through the details given below and accordingly apply for the same.

Important Dates to apply for GBO Recruitment in Bank of India

Dates for Submitting Online Applications: 19th Jan, 2012 to 31st Jan, 2012

Dates for Payment of Application fees: 19th Jan, 2012 to 31st Jan, 2012

Tentative Dates for Interview: Feb-March, 2012
Job Title: General Banking Officers (In Bank of India): GBO post is same as the post of Probationary Officers.

Pay Scale:   Rs 14500- 600/7 - 18700-700/2 – 20100-800/7-25700

Eligibility for Applying for the post of GBO in Bank of India 

  • Age Limit:  Min: 21 years and Max: 30 years.
  • Graduate with 60% marks from a recognized university of India.
  • IBPS Score Requirementt: Total Weighted Score Min : 130 (For Gen Category) and Min: 117 For Reserved Category  (i.e SC/ST/OBC/PWD)
Selection Process: The Selection process for the recruitment of General Banking Officers in Bank of India only consists of an Interview carrying 100 marks.
  • Interview Marks: Interview carry Max 100 marks.Qualifying marks in Interview is 50 % (For Gen Category) and 45 % (For Reserved Category) students.
  • Shortlisting of Candidates: Depending upon the number of applications received by Bank of India for the post of GBO only those candidates who satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria specified above and rank sufficiently higher in merit list in the ratio of 1:3 will be called for the Interview.
  • Final Selection: The final merit is prepared based on the marks of Candidates in the Common Written Exam and the Interview Score taken together.
Application Fees: An application fees of Rs 200 (For Gen and OBC) candidates will have to be deposited in any branch of Bank of India by using Challan Form before 31.01.2012. (No fee for SC/ST/PWD/Ex-service-men Candidates)

How to Apply for the Post of General Banking Officers in Bank of India ?
  • Candidates will first have to deposit the fees in any branch of  Bank of India and take the receipt containing Payment info.
  • After that candidates will have to fill the Online form at www.bankofindia.com.
  • After submitting the online application form, candidates are required to save details Like (Registration Number and Password) and take the print out of System generated application form.
  • The Application form and the Payment Receipt will have to be produced during the Interview.
